Outline

The goal of many aspiring sailors is the Coastal or Yachtmaster qualification. Demanding advanced seamanship and leadership competence under the watchful eyes of an RYA examiner. This course is designed to develop your sailing skills, attitudes and knowledge to enable you to skipper yachts on coastal passages day or night.

Comprising an initial assessment identifying strengths and weaknesses followed by intense preparation, for your exam.

Examiners require you to demonstrate the highest levels of seamanship expertise, particularly with regard to safety, meteorology, IRPCS, buoyage and passage planning. At the end of your weeks preparation you will have a clear understanding of your capability to pass the exam.

At this point the instructor gets off, and your RYA Examiner gets on the boat and conducts your exam over the last 2 days of a testing week.
